NewJeans to NJZ

In March of, 2025, in ADOR, Kpop idol group NewJeans debuted again as NJZ after a dispute with their company.

New Jeans was a girl group idol of 5 members:, Hanni, Danielle, Minji, Hyein, Haerin. 

They were super popular with their title songs: Attention, Hype Boy, Cookie, Ditto, Omg, Super Shy.

But the dispute between the company and them started in late 2024. The dispute between NJZ and entertainments like Hybe, entitled revolves around allegations of contract violations, unpaid royalties, and mismanagement of intellectual property rights.

They left HYBE ADOR entertainment and did not agree with the contraction.

This made them lose all rights to their song, name, etc, especially after they lost their court case. 

However, on 2025.02.07, they revealed their concept name; NJZ, on their respective instagram account. 

Finally debuted on March 23rd, 2025 at ADOR with the song Pit Stop which is a song that marks the break while dealing with all the issues with the dispute between companies and everything. 

The netizen’s reactions about their new concept were diverse.

The new concept received numerous praises from the fans who loved the new concept praising their bravery of leaving the company and starting anew. They also praised the song saying it was very brand new and unique compared to their older concept of New Jeans. 

But other people felt uncomfortable at this contradictory concept, saying these young people should not have left their company irresponsibly. Their original colorful and refreshing concept was intended to portray emotional growth and youth that today’s teenagers resonate upon, regarding the transition into an adult.  ,

However, they announced that they can’t continue their activity with the same name NJZ, because ADOR had won the court case that forbade them from working with this concept any longer.

Nonetheless their new hot debut has driven much attention and people are waiting to see if NJZ could fight through these legal matters and one day continue their activity to truly be as successful as NewJeans once was.
